Purpose:
Today’s world is increasingly complex, providing a context for even greater challenges perhaps not seen in previous generations regarding clinical practice in the mental health field. This two-part training is designed to equip clinicians with the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare them to work with three often misunderstood problem gambling populations.
The first segment of this two-part training will cover the concept of ethics. We’ll then move into a quick review on compulsive gambling, focusing on the definition and types of problem gamblers. Lastly, we’ll provide some unique presenting characteristics that clinicians must consider when treating depressed males. In the second segment of this two-part webinar, we’ll discuss working with tech savvy young adults, internet gaming disorder and the challenges of the LGBTQ population in clinical practice.
