Suzanne Koch Eckenrode, LMFT, BACC, ICGC-II/CCGC-II, has 24 years of experience in the problem-gambling field. She maintains a private practice in Orange County, California, and provides tele-health services statewide and beyond. Her EMDR-informed, trauma-focused work specializes in gambling disorder, betrayal/relational trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, and couples repair.
Suzanne is one of CalGETS’ most prolific providers, treating gamblers, affected partners, and couples. Her roles have included clinical supervisor and trainer, consultant, and expert witness. She developed the Trauma Assessment for Partners of Disordered Gamblers (TAPDG) to identify betrayal-trauma impacts and guide partner-focused care. She received CalGETS’ Achieving Success One Step at a Time award for treatment of gamblers and families, helped develop UPAC’s Gambling IOP, and began her career at the nation’s largest outpatient gambling program in Portland, Oregon, where she created its first track focused on affected partners.
