Purpose:
When addiction is active within the family system, whether a chemical or gambling addiction, traditional roles within the family system may change. This webinar will discuss Dr. Lange’s adaptation of six traditional roles and ways the roles change in an addicted family system. He will illustrate factors influencing these role changes, including family size and structure, the severity of the addiction, and social support systems available to family members.
Dr. Lange will also discuss how parenting of minor children can be influenced by these role adaptations in the addicted family, with possible long-term effects on the children as they mature into adulthood. Participants will identify and review treatment plan issues of the Rodriguez family case.
