Purpose:
Clinicians in the mental health field are often challenged by the circumstances that result from the complex world of counseling.  Many times, it’s simply a matter of staying informed of the basic ethical standards set forth by each of the respective professional organizations in the field.  In this class, you will learn about core ethical principles, philosophies and other considerations when providing therapeutic services to problem gamblers and/or other potential clients.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand seven philosophies connected to ethical thought;
  • Learn the first rule of ethical behavior;
  • Learn eight core ethical standards in mental health practice;
  • Learn five potential ethical concerns related to funding from “gambling purveyors.”
